Automobiles in German Town Discovered Smeared with Swastikas in Blood, Law Enforcement State

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Law Enforcement
Police stated they were contacted by a man who discovered a automobile in Hanau marked with reddish fluid

Approximately 50 automobiles have been covered with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's municipality of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.

Cars, exterior walls and postal boxes were defaced, sometimes with swastikas, they announced in a official communication.

Officers state they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday evening, when a man discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored liquid.

The fluid had been drawn in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they stated.

Officers then found multiple other vandalized vehicles and residential walls in the nearby vicinity.

These symbols are illegal in Germany under laws prohibiting the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.

Law enforcement say initial examinations suggest the substance was most likely human blood.

"At present there remains no indication as to its source; officials are presently not informed of any injuries in association with the occurrence," they added.

Municipal representatives announced they were trying "to unravel the mystery" and have asked to the community for information.

An important representative commented the incident made him without words and had to be resolved quickly.

"This incident strikes at the center of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the right-wing violent incident half a decade ago," he stated on a platform, referring to the killing of nine individuals by a gunman targeting people of immigrant origin in February 2020.
